What is Rainforest Alliance Coffee?
In 1993, the Rainforest Alliance and its partners in the Sustainable Agriculture Network demonstrated that traditional, forested 
coffee is a haven for wildlife. Rainforest Alliance worked with the coffee farmers to develop guidelines for sustainable farm management, negotiating prices and access to premium markets so that coffee connoisseurs can support those farmers who use eco-friendly sustainable and socially responsible farming practices by purchasing beans stamped with the RFA certified seal.
The mission of Rainforest Alliance is to protect ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behaviour. The organization works in 50 countries around the world to ensure that forestry, farm and tourism operations are managed sustainably.
