Interview with Trent Davies, Roastmaster & Company Share Holder

Hi Trent, thanks for taking time out of your busy roasting day to talk to me about the award winning 888 Blend. Now before we get onto that, can you tell our readers a little bit about the Master Roaster behind the blend?  How long have you been involved in coffee and roasting?

Ten years ago I moved to the coast and kind of fell into hospitality.  I started first as a barista and then moved into roasting area and have been roasting for around 7 years.  Four years ago came the opportunity of becoming a part owner of Cre8ive Coffee and the rest is history.

And what about the winning 888 Blend, what makes it so special?

The 888 Blend was one of the first blends developed at Cre8ive Coffee by Lindsay and myself, it has been tweaked and refined over the years to become the award winning blend that it is today and we’re pretty proud of it. It’s a real complex blend, not for the faint hearted; it’s got a good balance and flavour.  If you’re a fan of cherry ripe chocolates you’ll love this one with its chocolaty tones combined with a fruity flavour.

It was mentioned in the press release that there is a special way of roasting the 888 Blend; can you share that with our readers?

I can’t say too much but I can tell you that a lot more work goes into producing the 888 Blend than any other blend produced here at Cre8ive Coffee.

So what’s next for the team at Cre8ive Coffee?

We’re got a few things up our sleeve, Daimen and I are working on some new blends that we might enter in future competitions.   And continue to produce and deliver award winning coffees to the masses.
